Samantha McSorley
PG DipHealthSci, BHSc, Dip Clinical HerbMed CEO Sam was born and raised in Inverness, Scotland and moved to New Zealand in 1999. She is a degree qualified Medical Herbalist with 15 years clinical experience. Sam has worked in various capacities including nationwide consultation with allied health professionals, conference presentations at health seminars as well as lecturing and clinical practice. Sam brings a wealth of knowledge to ProHerb's sales and marketing team at ProHerb and also to her voluntary position with NZAMH in her role on the political subcommittee. Imparting knowledge and learning is a passion of Sam's whereby she is committed to the field of nutritional and herbal therapeutics. Sam runs a general practice with a special interest in Natural Fertility Management (for both men and women), weight loss and bowel conditions including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. |
Jane Carter
NZRN, ND Practitioner Consultant (South Island) Jane's role as the South Island Practitioner Consultant at ProHerb is to offer technical support, product training and share clinical experience with her clients. She previously had a long involvement with ProHerb during the years she was employed at The Herbal Dispensary in Christchurch. Originally trained as a Registered Nurse in the 1980's, nursing both in New Zealand and overseas, Jane then re-trained as a Naturopath. She graduated in 1994 from the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine and has been in part-time clinical practice for 25 years. Jane continues practising her Saturday morning clinics so she can maintain her clinical experience which provides value to her role. Jane was the Western Medical Sciences (WMS) tutor at the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine where she taught degree level anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology for 4 ½ years. Outside of work hours Jane enjoys gardening, walking in the hills, playing classical and jazz piano, has sung in a world music a'capella choir for 20 years and currently sings in a voluntary hospice threshold group, singing softly at bedside for people facing life's transitions. |
Anya Wellington
Adv Dip Naturopathy, Dip Herb Med, Dip Nutrition Practitioner Consultant (Lower North Island) Anya is based in Wellington and works as practitioner consultant for the lower North Island area. She has been with ProHerb since 2012 providing product training, technical support and sharing her clinical experience with practitioners. Anya particularly enjoys working with and supporting new graduates who are establishing their clinics. Anya's passion for MediHerb began in 2000 when she started her training as a naturopath and medical herbalist at the Australian College of Natural Medicine in Melbourne. She worked in clinical practice for 14 years and was also an in-store naturopathic consultant during that time. Outside of work, Anya loves spending time travelling, practicing yoga, reading and walking her dogs around Wellington's many beautiful coastal and bush walks. |
Tracy Gerber
BHSc (CompMed), AdvDipNat, AdvDipMedHerb Practitioner Consultant (Upper North Island) Tracy graduated with a degree in Naturopathy and Medical Herbalism from South Pacific College of Natural Medicine in 2005. She also trained as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Pulmonology in the 80's. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, she arrived in New Zealand in 1997. Tracy ran her own Naturopathic clinic for several years before managing a health store for 6 years, including in-store consultations and hemaview. Her role with ProHerb is to offer product training, technical support and sharing her clinical experience with practitioners. Her absolute passion is with skin conditions, gut health, mood and stress support. Outside of work, she loves developing her herb garden and is an absolute foodie! She enjoys reading, playing the organ, nature and fishing. |
Annami Els
BCom Sales & Marketing Annami graduated from The University of Auckland in 2015 where she studied marketing and management. Her primary focus at ProHerb is the organisation and promotion of marketing campaigns and educational events delivered by our suppliers. Additionally she maintains the ProHerb website, creates digital content and keeps clients informed of news, events and specials through our social media pages and monthly e-newsletters. In her spare time, Annami enjoys being outdoors hiking, skiing and rock climbing. |
Jenny Nicoll
Administration & Finance Manager Jenny has been with ProHerb for a number of years in various roles and is currently responsible for management of the administration and finance in the business. She is proud of the company's focus on a friendly, personal but professional approach to customer service. Jenny has two daughters undertaking tertiary study and both have a passion and talent for athletics. She enjoys supporting them at every opportunity. Jenny enjoys time, food and wine spent with friends and family. Exercise and reading are also amongst Jenny's ways to relax. |
Angela Mitchell
Customer Service & Administration Ang is the most recent addition to our Customer Services and Administration team. She is a Cantabrian who has worked in banking and regional tennis for many years. Her passion is sport and she is married with a son who plays rugby league. Outside of work Ang is a member of the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club, enjoys the gym, cycling, yoga and running after the family Jack Russell. |
Dom England
Customer Service & Administration Dom is a registered Naturopath and spent his years of study working in the ProHerb warehouse, and since graduating has been working in clinic, retail and tutoring. He has a keen enthusiasm for all aspects of nutrition and herbal medicines, and sees the development of these into industries of the future to be a key aspect in the sustainability of the industry in a changing world. As such he is very interested in philosophies and technologies which are driving an evolving and more inclusive world including decentralisation and blockchain. He also loves spending time with family, and friends, and activites like snowboarding/skiing and travel. |
Catrina Collins
Customer Service & Administration Catrina completed a Diploma in Clinical Herbal Medicine in 2002 and then worked as a practitioner for several years at The Herbal Dispensary in Christchurch and has hence a history of using many of the ProHerb product ranges. After a long break from work to raise her son, she ventured back into the workforce part time in the construction industry during the Christchurch rebuild, so she has acquired many new skills in small business management and administration. Catrina enjoys family life at home including gardening, reaping the harvest and enjoying the nutritional benefits of the foods she has grown. She utilises the medicinal use of all that's grown wherever possible and she also has a keen interest in yoga. |
Rick Murch
Warehouse Supervisor Rick has joined the team in the warehouse and is enjoying the busy environment and learning about the ProHerb products. He is married with three children and three grandchildren who all live overseas. After living in Australia for 10 years, Rick and his wife have returned to Christchurch bringing with them their two rescue cats (Tom and Jerry) who they could not consider leaving behind. Rick loves travelling and sampling the different kinds of food and wine both nationally and internationally. He enjoys all sports and spending time in his vegetable garden. |
Brenda Fillingham
Warehouse Assistant Brenda has recently joined the "family" at ProHerb and is really enjoying learning all the aspects of working in the warehouse department. She leads a quiet life, has three wonderful (sometimes) children, a fabulous (always) grand-daughter, loves reading and the outdoors. Brenda is proud to be a member of the ProHerb team and their innovative efforts in being eco-friendly. |
Alice Macdonald
Warehouse Assistant Alice has just recently finished her degree at the University of Canterbury and is enjoying her first full-time job out of study. She hopes to go on her big OE sometime within the next year or two. In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym and spending time with family and friends. |
Sue Scoringe
Herbal Manufacturer Sue is ProHerb's Warehouse Manufacturer. Busy days in the warehouse are spent manufacturing products as required and various other logistical requirements. Sue is married with two grown up sons, one strange but lovable dog and two odd cats and spends her non-ProHerb hours gardening, reading, taking photos and enjoying an outdoor lifestyle in the beautiful Akaroa Harbour. |
